Are bags permitted inside Faller Field (MHS Stadium)?
No. There is a strict “No Bag” policy for events. There will be no exceptions made to this policy.

Can I bring balloons/signs/noisemakers to celebrate my graduate?
None of the items listed will be permitted inside the gates at Faller Field. Please read the "Prohibited Items and Security Reminders" section for a full list of prohibited items.

Do siblings/friends/children need a ticket to attend?  
Anyone over the age of 2 will need a ticket to enter the stadium for the ceremony. Children under 2 years old may enter without a ticket and will need to sit on an adult's lap throughout the duration of the ceremony.

Are families allowed on the track?
Not during the ceremony, but families and friends are welcome to visit with their scholars on the field and take photos after the ceremony.

What if there is inclement weather on graduation day?
If there are any changes to graduation, we will announce them on the district website and Facebook page.

Can graduates leave the ceremony after their names are read?
No. All scholars must stay for the entire ceremony.

Where do I park for the ceremony?
There will be limited parking available at Middletown High School.  Parking is on a first come, first serve basis.  There is reserved parking for individuals with special needs who hold a valid Handicapped Permit.   The parking lot at the HS will close once full or at 9 AM whichever occurs first.  

Where do I park if the High School lot is full?
There is overflow parking available at Orange County Fairgrounds. There will be shuttle service provided by Mid-City Transit from the Fair Grounds to the HS. You must have a graduation ticket in order to be eligible to board a shuttle to the HS campus. Individuals who do not have a graduation ticket will not be permitted to board a shuttle to the HS campus.

The following items are prohibited from the graduation venue, Faller Field. There are no exceptions.

• Backpacks
• Fanny Packs
• Purses/Cross body bags (including clear)
• String Bags
• Diaper Bags
• Messenger Bags
• Camera Bags/Cases
• Briefcases
• Balloons 
• Inflatable Balls
• Signs
• Noisemakers
• Weapons, firearms, or pocket knives

All guests will go through security checkpoints upon entrance to Faller Field.

Guests are asked to have their keys, wallets and phones out of their pockets upon arrival at the security checkpoints and jackets should be unzipped. Items should be placed into the security bins before passing through metal detectors.

Compact umbrellas are allowed in the venue (under 12" when compacted). Guests must walk through the metal detector with the umbrella subject to inspection.

"Leave your mark" on the Middletown campus! The senior class will be hosting a chalk your spot event where you will be able to decorate a parking spot on campus. Following the Chalk-a-Spot event, the senior class will host a Senior Sunset.

Sign up will close on Monday, April 28 at 3 p.m.

Middletown High School is offering the opportunity for graduating seniors to submit a commencement address to be voted on by the senior class for presentation at the Commencement Ceremony on Friday, June 27, 2025.

If you are interested in submitting a speech to be voted on, please read through the requirements below.

Scholar Eligibility 

• Scholar must be a senior graduating in June 2025.
• Scholar must be in good academic and disciplinary standing.

General Requirements

• Speeches must be typed, double spaced, size 12 font on a separate Google Doc (attached to email)
• Typed manuscripts of the speech are due via email to Mrs. Luba (kerry.luba@ecsdm.org) no later than 11:59 PM on May 5, 2025; speeches submitted after the deadline will not be included in the vote.

Speech Guidelines

• Must be the original work of the scholar submitting the speech.
• May not be longer than 3-4 minutes in length when presented (approx. 650-800 words).
• Must be written in style appropriate for the audience (scholars, staff, family, community members).
• Appropriate humor can be included, but the overall tone of the address should suit the celebratory occasion.
• Speech should celebrate the commencement, some things you may wish to include are
  • Impact of academic and/or social experiences
  • Influence of faculty, staff, or family
  • Significant opportunities provided by the Middletown School District
  • What the future may hold for your fellow graduates
• Remember, you are speaking on behalf of your fellow graduates, and while personal stories can be included, they should be woven into the overall message of your speech. 

Speech Voting Process

• All submitted speeches will be made available to the graduating class to read at least two days prior to the vote.
• Speeches will be presented as a written document 
• All speeches will be anonymous and any personal information will be removed for the purposes of the vote (this information may be added back if the speech is selected)
• All speeches will be reviewed by administration PRIOR to the vote
• Voting will take place in the Government and Economics classes May 19-21  via Google Classroom; students who are not currently enrolled in Government or Economics will be able to vote via the Senior Class Google Classroom 
• Each senior will only be allowed to vote once 
• The speech with the highest number of votes will be read at the Commencement Ceremony on June 27, 2025.

Timeline

• April 23 - Seniors notified of speech submission guidelines
• May 5 - Speeches due to Mrs. Luba via email (kerry.luba@ecsdm.org) by 11:59 PM 
• May 19-21 - Speech voting during Government and/or Economic classes
   

Caps and gowns orders have been completed with guidance counselors in the fall. Cap and gown distribution will take place on Thursday, June 12 following the mandatory graduation meeting.

Orders include one blue cap, one blue gown, and one 2025 tassel.

Graduates can decorate caps with school-appropriate messages.

Do not iron the gowns. Do not lose your tassel.

June 26th at 9 a.m.

• Seniors sign up via House 2 to visit elementary schools
• Seniors are to wear their cap & gowns for the walk
• Transportation will be provided to & from the elementary school from MHS
• Permission slips required to participate in the walk 
   

June 26th at 11 a.m. - Farewell Brunch
Seniors enjoy brunch with staff to celebrate their graduation & reminisce about high school memories.

June 26th at 12 p.m. - Mandatory Rehearsal
Rehearsal is mandatory.

Ticket distribution is on June 26th at 1:30 p.m., following the mandatory graduation rehearsal. Every graduate will receive four (4) tickets.

Anyone over the age of 2 will need a ticket to enter the stadium for the ceremony.  Children under 2 years old may enter without a ticket, and will need to sit on an adult's lap through the duration of the ceremony.

No additional tickets may be purchased.

You MUST present your graduation ticket in order to board a shuttle to the HS campus.

Graduates will only recieve their diploma cover at the graduation ceremony. Diploma certificates will be distributed following the ceremony in the MHS small gym.
